Exams - GCSE

GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education and is the basis qualification of the English education system. GCSEs are primarily targeted at secondary school pupils, but are also suitable for adults.

GCSE Dutch

GCSE Dutch consists of four examination papers; one each for speaking, listening, reading, and writing. The GCSE Dutch exams take place once per year in May or June and 25% of the marks are awarded for each paper.

All GCSE Dutch examination enrolments made by the Dutch Language School will be with the OCR examination board with codes A801 (listening), A802 (speaking), A803 (reading) and A804 (writing).

Dictionaries are allowed in the writing exam but not in the listening, reading and speaking exams.

The GCSE Dutch speaking exam requires candidates to make a 1 minute presentation on a topic of their choice, followed by a 4 minute discussion on the chosen topic, followed by a 5 minute discussion on a different topic chosen by the examiner.

ALL candidates completing a GCSE Dutch speaking examination with the Dutch Language School will be required to complete our GCSE Dutch Speaking Exam Preparation UNLESS they are following one of our GCSE Dutch courses (which include this preparation).

We will accept GCSE Dutch examination entries for the 2017 exams up until 18 March 2017.
